Rheum rhaponticum 'Victoria'
USDA Hardiness Zone 3-9
Victoria rhubarb has sweet pink stalks and is less bitter than other varieties. Plant in rich soil and do not harvest in the first year. Once established, harvest leaf stalks, no more than 1/3 of the plant at a time. Trim out any seed stalks that form.
Leaves are not edible due to oxalic acid concentration but are useful as a homeopathic beehive treatment for mites.
Seed stalk. These should be removed to keep the plant producing edible leaf stalks.
